Review by Great Little Places Website
Leading light in the cosmopolitan food scene along the Usk Valley. New owners bring an inventive, fresh approach to country bistro cooking, with a fusion of local and modern influences. This family run former drovers’ inn and restaurant offers friendly service amd am atmospheric setting for any occasion. Excellent wine list, Welsh real ales and, for old time's sake, a variety of both draught and bottled ciders.

Review by SquareMeal.co.uk
The pink Nantyffin Cider Mill is where French & Italian techniques meet Welsh produce with satisfying results. Based outside Crickhowell, on the edge of the Black Mountains, the former drovers' inn dates from the 16th century & was well known for its cider in the 19th century. Carefully prepared food is what attracts customers these days & you can eat in the traditional bar or in the neighbouring old apple store. Start with Black Mountain smoked chicken & leek ravioli with fragrant roast garlic & truffle oil, before a main of confit lamb with creamed herb mash & garlic rosemary sauce, or Gloucester Old Spot loin with mushroom, bacon & black pudding spring roll. Glazed lemon tart or Welsh cheeses are a good way to finish. Service is effortless & friendly, most of the wines below £20 & there’s an excellent choice of half bottles balanced by unusual heavyweights such as the 1997 Joseph Phelps Insignia at around £90.

Green Man Festival 2010
The Green man festival is a folk festival being held on 20th, 21st and 22nd August at the Glan Usk Park. Glan Usk Park has been aptly described as "the best event site in the country," by the Times. Situated in the Brecon Beacons it is surrounded by lovely countryside and inspiring mountains. The camping area of Green Man is situated in parkland which is grazed by sheep for the other eleven months of the year. The river Usk surrounds the site with the fish swimming just under the surface.
The Nantyffin Cider Mill Inn is located directly opposite this beautiful location.
